Nordstrom Upgrade?

Long time lurker, first time poster...

Nordstrom Auto increased my limit to $5,000 earlier this week.  I rarely use the card (probably a couple times a year).  I called and asked to be upgraded to the visa and was told you can only do it if you app in the store.  I did not like that answer so I called back a day later and was told that it can only be done if you are invited (which they just finished their august invites) or if you app in the store... so i should wait and see if I get invited this month.

Are you no longer able to request the upgrade?  I have read members here requesting the upgrade as late as June 2017.  Maybe I am missing something?

I find that hard to believe unless it was a recent change. They upgraded me over the phone back in July and then gave me a $2k auto increase a month later

That is what I figured.... I am going to call them again and see what happens.  Maybe I will get lucky and get the right answer.

I spoke to another rep who stated that they are no longer doing the manual upgrades to either of their Visa products but review accounts quarterly for upgrades and that I should wait a couple months and see if I get selected.

I can say I am not sure as to how TD Bank/Nordstrom handles upgrades. I opened my Nortstrom Store card November 2015. my fico was around 640 my SL was $1000.00. I filed Ch 7 November 2010 discharged February 2011. I received several auto cli now at $8500.00 I received a letter in June 2017 Stating I had been chosen for upgrade to Visa Signature in August 2017. I received my new card 2 weeks ago. My current Score is 690 i dont use is much and probably wont begin to. Moral of the story based on my credit profile i shouldn't have a signature visa and I do so who knows how TD Bank will  handle upgrades going forward.

I had the same experience today when I called in (using the number on the back of the card). The rep told me that they don't offer upgrades to Visa, and that I would have to go inside a store and apply for a Visa card. I declined. But my time wasn't completely wasted, I then asked if I was eligible for an APR reduction, and sure enough I was, and took the offer to reduce my APR.

And just some background: my Nordstrom store card has a $5K+ limit and always pay its balance in full and my credit scores are pretty good, so I thought it was good time to try to get this card upgraded.

So, if anyone has more information/updates about upgrading the Nordstrom store card to a Visa, it would be much appreciated!
