They seem to finally be fixing the incorrect counts. A lot of people (even in the comments on that article) reported receiving double credits for credit card elite night bonuses; it sounds like this is likely the case here. I had a missing Starwood stay (surprisingly my only one pre-merger since I cared to sign up for loyalty accounts) that finally posted around midnight last night and my lifetime nights are correct (although my Silver/Gold elite years seem to be short by 1).
I still can't believe how long this is taking to get right!
