So I got denied credit (soft pulled) by Credit One Bank about a week ago so I requested my credit report under the Fair Credit Reporting Act with Experian.
Back in May 2014, I was added as an AU to my parent's Fidelity Investment Rewards American Express. FIA Card Services told me that the card would be reported to the 3 major CRA's. Back in September 2014, I had checked my TU out of curiosity and I noticed that the AMEX was not reporting to my TU (and most probably also on EQ and EX). I called FIA Card Services and they informed me how FIA does not determine what would be reported to the CRA's - it was up to AMEX so they gave me the phone number for AMEX Credit Reporting Department. When I spoke to AMEX Credit Reporting Department they informed me the Fidelity Investment Rewards American Express as well as some other co-branded and business cards do not get reported to the CRA's. I know that other people on MyFico who have the Fidelity Investment Rewards American Express are having the card reported to the CRA's. What should I do? Should I call FIA Card Services and request it to be reported to the CRA's and see what they say or should I just not bother?
Also on my EX credit report there are 2 names that are associated with my credit. One of them is the right way (Michael) and the wrong one was spelled wrong (Micheal). Is it suggested that I call EX and file a dispute due to that the wrong information?
Something that also has slightly confused me is this notice that is listed on my EX report, "The Social Security number that you gave us when you contacted us shows that credit was established before the number was issued." I think I know why that notice is listed there however I am not 100% sure. I think it might be due to the only account that is showing up on my EX report (and it is one in good standing). The only account is from Discover Financial Services in which I am an AU on. The Discover Financial Services account was opened 03/1986. It was first reported on my EX 11/2014. Status on the account is: Open/Never late.
Also does anyone know why for the Discover Financial Services Account, the recent payment amount says $0 and in the balance history it says "no data" for actual amount paid? Payments are made to the card every month....There is currently an account balance on the account but that is because we have a promotional 0% APR until February 2015 in which the full balance will be paid off a statement period before February 2015 to avoid any interest charges.
Thanks for your help in advance! ![]()
PS: Going to try to convince my parents to add me as on AU on their AMEX Blue Cash Everyday so that my MSD would be 2014 and not 2015 (which will help my AAOA) AND to add me as on AU on their Chase Freedom to help get my foot in with the door with Chase (maybe even apply for my own Freedom after being referred by my parents so that I will still get the $200 after spending $500 within 3 months as well as getting my parents $50 for referring me and me using the card by March 18, 2015).

There is a difference between them reporting the main card holder to the CRAs and that of AUs. So just because you see other people saying that theirs in on their reports doesn't mean that it will happen for an AU. More than likely you are of luck on that and if you need help check with your parents to see if they hav another card that they will add you as an AU.
You should file a dispute about the name issue. Could be problematic down the road. As for the reporting on the discover card I wouldn't worry about that as it doesn't affect your score at all. As lng as its being reported as being on time that's what counts.

People who are AU's or are the main holder who added AU's have said it. For example, click here to view one of my posting from a few weeks ago in which user '@uswala' stated, "It is weird as I have a Fidelity Amex with my wife as AU and it reports on all her CRs!!"
Also, my parents have multiple credit cards so I don't have to worry about checking with my parents to see if they have another card for me to be added to.
Off the top of my head, my parents have these credit cards:
What are the top 3 credit cards that are listed about that you recommend me being added to as an AU?
The only things I use the credit cards for are for dining or if I want to buy myself something online (that is not expensive).
Well as far others having it reported, someone then has dropped the ball bi put if neither AE or Fidei,it won't take responsibility your options are limited and if your parent are willing to add you into others then its not that big of a deal and not worth further effort. Best would be combination of three iof the Chase and Citi cards
@Anonymous wrote:Best would be combination of three if the Chase and Citi cards
Do you know if the Chase Ink Cash would affect my personal credit or not since it is considered a business card?

Don't have them add you to that one. Won't be reported

I'm considering the Ink+ if I stumbled upon a better bonus than the 50K offered (I got nearly that much for CSP..)

Why the Ink+ over Ink Cash or other card?

Bonus UR.
~$625 vs $200 -- However, Ideally I'd go for both. as I can charge the heck out of the Ink+, BT it temporarily to my QS MC, and then BT it back to the Ink Cash at 0%.

Do you know if you can downgrade a Ink + to Ink cash?
