So, I apologize in advance if it's in the wrong forum.
Shame on me for carrying balances on my cards. I am paying then all down/off. I budget money every month for things ie. groceries and gas. It did not occur to me to use my credit cards for this and then use the money I budgeted to pif what I chadged on the card for the month. What can I say. I'm a little slow.
Here is my question. I have a couple higher CL cards and several small ones. Should I use the low limit cards and pay the charges monthly and hope for CLI's or the higher limit cards for rewards?
IMO, auto CLI from lender is a rare and unpredictable, you just don't know if you'd get it or what you could do to make it happen. I'd just focus on paying off all the balances to save money from paying interest; then take your favorite card in terms of rewards or cash back and use it judiciously and request CLI later.
That is what I am doing, however in the mean time... instead of using $600 from my debit card, I could run it through a CC and pay the CC before any interest is incured. Same for gas, cable bill, etc.
Yea, that's a great plan!
I REALLY feel like an idiot for not doing it sooner. I think a lot of people here do it!
I would use the rewards card for all normal charges to get the most from the rewards and PIF.
I got all excited to see you replied LS and it's blank! ha ha!
OK, now I see it... that's weird!
That is what I was thinking was going to make more sense.

What low limit cards do you have?
Cap one, which I know will NEVER CLI, but for some reason I keep holding out hope. It's been 500 for 3 years. Never missed or made a late payment. Sometimes carried a balance, sometimes PIF'd.
HSBC 900 same story as cap 1. Havne't had a CLI since the 3rd month I had it. ![]()
Chase (this is new, rewards card, it will grow so I'm not getting rid of it!)..
I just need to let go of the HSBC and cap 1 cards.... but I can't! I actually just paid the annual fee on cap one so I've got them for another year. I'm not sure about HSBC though.
