Noticed something about due dates...

So my Amex statement closed yesterday (December 8), and my payment is due on January 2.  From what I've counted, there are 24 days between December 8 and January 2... but my cardholder agreement states that I'll be given at least 25 (which I take to mean more than 25, i.e. 26 or more) days to pay.  I'm not really worried about this since I pay quickly (I've already paid), but now I'm tempted to read the rest of the cardholder agreement to see if there's anything else I missed...

If the payment is due on the 25th day it looks like you have 25 days to make it...unless im interpreting this incorrectly. Our closing and due dates are the same.

8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 1, 2 = 26 total days if you include the statement day, a potential payment day if one is quick off the mark. Otherwise, 25 days, you certainly have to count Jan 2 as a day.

and "at least" doesn't mean "more than".  It literally means "the least amount is".  So you can't expect more than 25 days and it looks like you're getting 26.

As stated above, that's not what "at least" means.  "At least 25 days" means 25 or more but not less than 25.  I.e the least number of days is 25.

 

"26 or more" would be "at least 26".
