Number of accounts

Is there a limit to the number of accounts that are listed on a credit report? Another question is when do closed accounts drop off? 10 years after date of closing?

+1 no limts

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Number of accounts

Reason I was asking is because my oldest account is like 12 years old. But all the old ones are closed. My oldest open account is only about a year old

All good accounts open or closed stay on CR's for 10 yrs

The 12 yr acct is a blessing

Re: Number of accounts

@SPreb, there isn't a limit on accounts on a CR. One member on this forum has over 100 accounts on his CR. 😮

Re: Number of accounts

The CR can show unlimited open accounts.

Closed accounts stay for 10 years.

Negative info is 7 years.

Inquiries 2 years (but can potentially be bumped off sooner)

Re: Number of accounts

@myjourney. The 12 years is time since it was opened not closed. It was closed like 4 years ago

Not sure you mean that!  Open accounts stay on regardless of age, closed accounts usually drop off 10 years after closure.
