I never missed a payment with any cards and 4am I realized that yesterday I missed the payment that was due last night on my savur card that had only a 4$ balance I immediately made a payment
The problem is that I was planning to apply for a third card with Capital One next week am I messed up now??
I don't wanna waste a triple pull
If that affected my approval with Capital One I do have for the past four months a preapproval offer from them when i check the status with them
The only way to know if it even mattered to Capital One, is to call them and find out.
Also, since you're not a noob. Is there any reason why you don't have autopay initialized?
Not to be harsh, but if your credit is important enough to freak out on a missed payment by a few hours.
It should be important enough to you, to take the time and set autopay up on atleast minimum balances.
I've seen this more times than I can count happen and the member freak out.
The best of us can slip up and forget.
How about let Capital One be on the hook if their system screws up and not you.
My best guess is you'll be fine.
Call them and explain. Some are quick to slap you with late fees.
That $4 could have cost you a boat load of points if you hadn't caught it.
Points that take years to recover from depending on how thick your file is.

I would just call in and explain. If this is your first 'late', they will likely waive any fee. I doubt you're in any kind of danger of any further AA.
Unfortunately, if there is one thing that gets on CapOne nerve, it's the missed/returned payments.
If you call, they might waive the fee, but at the same time, missed payment "rests" in internal records.
Customer service cannot do anything about that.
I'd hold off with application for a while, as CapOne approval process is completely automated, and if computer "thinks" you're having financial trouble, denial is quite possible. If anything, it could be a "confirmation" that you're looking for new credit because of financial distress.
I'd wait, but that's totally up to you.
^listen to Rem. I have no experience with Cap One.

This is what annoys the *** out of me.
I've been paying on time (and more than minimums, if i carried a balance) ever since I've had their card,. Then one time without any word it's returned for some odd reason I never was able to figue out why. No one knew... They threw out the typical BS respones as if it was my fault, yet my checking account had 100 times more than the payment I made. So it isn't NSF!
Granted most of my Cap1 experince was on their old card that is now closed by me, and the returned payment was on the Walmart card they just aquired. But payment history is payment history. So i guess we can say that type of BS gets on my nerve. because I SD'd it after that and have no plans to use it again.
Let the payment post, then try the prequal link. Its normally pretty solid and I would think that if you somehow put in the penalty box you would not see a prequalification.
I wouldn't sweat it, I'd call.
my dad has great credit, retired and everything is paid off each statement. He forgot to pay his bass pro visa/MasterCard and remembered a week later. The issuers know it can happen to anyone. I told him to call capital one and to my surprise they waived the late fee and basically said they would take it off like it never happened. His 20k credit line stayed and the card has worked well ever since.
if it's the first time they will likely treat you well. My dad gets better customer service from capital one than he does with Amex which surprised me
I would definitely call

Good advice. Its definitely not a done deal that its a black mark that will hurt apping. But need to speak with someone at Cap One, preferrably get confirmation from a supervisor. Key of course is its the first time and there is decent history of 100% on-time payments.
Autopay.
Capital One even explicitly shows your planned future auto pay above all your list of charges on your card page. It is simply the clearest display that your payment is good to go, of any of the major banks I have worked with. Everyone else makes you hunt for it to verify AP is working.
Autopay.
