Odd application rejection factor

A buddy of mine sent me a picture of his rejection letter from discover.  It said this as the reason for rejection:

"Application is currently being processed."

Anyone ever saw this rejection reason before? I told him he should call the recon line.

Did your friend apply for the card before the application which got denied? They may have rejected it because there's already another application in progress.

Either this, or they need more verification / info.

For me, it was the low AAoA (my SSN was about 8 months old) and they had to manually call me to verify. Back then I had no idea about this forum or recon services. He should call recon proactively and find out if they need any further info.

Re: Odd application rejection factor

Did he maybe hit the refresh button while the application was processing? May have gone through twice, with the first one being caught in the annoying 'We'll let you know in a few days' message that he then never saw.

Re: Odd application rejection factor

Ive received that message too. Usually
If u have applied several times or within 45 days of last denial, thats the message.

Usually results in no HP.

Re: Odd application rejection factor

He is fairly new to credit, this is the first time he applied for it. His only other card is a CapOne Quicksilver he got a couple months ago. I asked if it was possible that he double clicked the button, and he said no, that he is always careful about double hitting those types of buttons.
