Wow who would of thought lol?   I have been tempted to close cards such as Macy's Amex at 25k and other such cards with very high APR's just out of principle, but have yet to do anything and also another one is the PNC CORE non rewards card (what is point) that sits at 15k(also high APR!) and since you mentioned it thought about HSBC as well but that is moving to citizens bank so will probably see what happens to rewards structure of that card.  macy's is likely to happen within next few months and will as like you still be over 600k in personal credit.  Business credit is another whole thing lol

Yeah just the idea of me going in reverse took me a minute to digest. I've been running on 8 cylinders for at least 5-6 years now lol I didn't know HSBC was going to Citizens (IIRC they are the 1.8% catch all card), but I knew about their exit. I remember them because Citizens and Fifth-Third have quarky numbers (1.67% cash back on everything) lol my OCD would not fare well with that rewards setup lol

I'm still going to push for CLIs on the ones I keep, and probably much later I'll try to combine where I can so it's a single card with a large limit (1 Amex, 1 chase, 1 BofA, 1 citi, etc), but that's a ways down the line. That's when I'll get to the @Aim_High level of credit lol

Ya funny about 5-7 years ago i thought i would be happy with about 5-7 cards at 30k each limit..  How that has evolved lol.  I think now it would take about 7 cards at 50k+ each to kinda make me happy and honestly pretty close to that now so the bar might need to change as well on that goal!

Ohh the days of "just get them all to $25k", and then a better one came out, and another, and another lol I never thought some of these would just keep growing into the 30s and 40s, but here we are. The only one I didn't "earn" was my citi double cash (now prestige) when it went from $20k to $40k overnight from their online glitch lol

Granted theyve denied me every CLI request on my core Citi cards since then (and I've tried a couple times), but they will approve me for additional cards. I'm just curious what kind of block is on that card ("reject all CLIs for 10 years" lol, who knows, but it's till open and active so no complaints here). Looking back, I was REALLY playing with fire lol

Very true my friend. The world is changing and we're changing along with it. Getting the ink card has been my road to sobriety with applications and new accounts. Once I get there, I'll plant myself as a gnome in my own garden lol

Re: Off With Their Heads!!!

I am tempted to do the same and probably will soon; it's hard because I really like the lenders I have and their products. Having only 4 cards is the ideal number for me.

Re: Off With Their Heads!!!

Your keeper lineup is awesome! I've tried to be pretty metered with my approach of picking up new cards, but I've still acquired some that will end up on the chopping block at some point.
I'm still at that point that I almost cannot imagine cutting my imaginary money limit on plastic though! 😂

Our credit card journey started 3/2018

There's certainly an attractiveness to simplicity. I think I could live with 4 cards as well. Dining, groceries, gas, everything else.

LOL you won't get any judgement from me, and you're right if we were able to lay it out like cash in front of us I'm sure I'd feel VERY differently

Congratulations on your lineup and progress! I'm cash-back focused too, so I've always been amazed by your collection lol. Why haven't you added the AOD to your pile o' plastic?

I was thinking the same...Next year I plan to buy some investment properties and would love a Chase Ink card to put all the expenses on that business card to separate the spend....If I can slay the US Bank dragon (Cash+ App currently pending) I would be 4/24 which would be perfect ...I'm sure my CPA friend would love me for it lol
