I got a credit card offer today from Cap one for the Quicksilver card, the no annual fee visa version. The weird thing is I currently have the $39 AF version of this card with a 3000 CL. This is an old Green cash back that got added to the quicksilver reward program in November. I clearly don't need another Quicksilver card, but is there any way I can use this offer to ditch the annual fee on my current card? I don't really want to apply for more credit right now as I am about to purchase a car.

Sounds like an email to EO is in order...frontline CS will not be of much help. Good luck.
You may want to chat with a CR. I did so a few weeks back to upgrade my platinum to the quicksilver. Initially, they were going to transfer the fee from my platinum card (39 dollars), but when I contested, the rep stated they could drop the annual fee on my current card or upgrade to the Quicksilver with the fee. I ended up declining the offer and closing my Cap One account (long time coming due to my experience with them), but in theory they should be able to do the same for you.
