About a month ago, I logged into my Chase account and finally saw some of those green check preapprovals I've read about here. I thought about it and looked at the offers several times, but I didn't bite. I figured I'd wait to see if they'd show me a starting limit (which I also learned about here). Then last week, I noticed the offers were gone and I was slightly relieved that the temptation was no longer there (while also being slightly disappointed lol).
Well, this morning I logged into my account and saw this:
I honestly didn't think it would be this high, so the temptation is back again! My only hesitation is that there is a good chance that I'll be applying for a mortgage this time next year. Chances are we'll start looking in March, though, so is it better not to apply 11 months out? I feel like the answer is wait until next year (after the mortgage), but would love some input. My last card was the CSP last July, so it's been 9 months. My fiancés credit history is much longer than mine and his scores are in the 800s, so I'm sure it'll come down to my mortgage scores.
That's nice though.

Congratulations on your Chase offers! I've read (and experienced) that six months at minimum, to one year, of opening new accounts before going for a mortgage. We just did a home equity loan, and our lender specifically mentioned us not having sought out credit in the last six months (it'd been longer than that though!)
Personally I would pass since you already have CSP and decent cards with rotating categories.

Since you see a mortgage in your near future, your best bet is to refrain. Being on the scorecard for folks with no new accounts in the past 12 months is a good thing, and you want to be on that scorecard when you apply.
Also, you don't want the inquiries. Chase sometimes even double pulls.
With a mortgage possibly coming up, I would only break the oft-cited "No applications!!!" rule for an amazing offer: e.g. a card that has great rewards for a large type of spend that you must make really soon, a huge limited time SUB, or a new card with special terms for the first X apps/months etc.
These don't seem to fall into that category! Also, even if the preapproved offers go away, that doesn't mean much. Unless there is a big change, you will likely be able to get them from a cold app.
As your title suggests, it's a temptation rather that a nail-biting decision time IMO!
Assuming this won't lead to an app spree, I think you're fine going for one of them. A year is a good chunk of time, and it seems like you have good credit anyway. I wouldn't worry about it for a second if you can benefit from the card.
Good luck!
@SouthJamaica @Anonymous I agree with you both. Those were the very reasons behind my suggestion.
Thanks, guys. You all bring up good points. Indeed, I am pretty happy with my current lineup, and don't really need any new cards. These would be superfluous, although the 0% APR could come in handy for a large purchase I am considering.
