Just got an offer in the mail from Old National Bank offering a Visa card with no AF, 5.99 Apr fixed rate for life, 0% Apr until February 2018, and free Fico score access. Haven't really heard of them before so don't know what to think of this. Has anyone else had any experience with this bank?
**7/23/17** Finally got up the nerve to apply for this card after much research and member thoughts/suggestions. Applied on Tuesday and got the pending review msg.Knowing that they manually review 99 percent of their apps, are very conservitive and inquiry sensitive. I decided to not call them and wait things out. So friday came around and decided to check on the application status link and to my immediete suprise was an approval sittng there for $8,000 SL! I am just stocked to get in with this bank and lokking forward to the sp cli opportunities that come around every 3-4 months. Special thanks to galahad15, woodyman100, creditmagic7, Irish80 and others who helped me along through making this decision.**

I see. Yes have heard of First Bankcard before but have never applied products. Do you have any experience with thief? Are they a conservative lender?
Wow, very nice offer that you have there! If I were in your shoes, I would definitely jump on it, lol
On the question about FNBO, yes they do tend to be a conservative lender, but IME (I have 3 cards with them), once you're in with them, you're in and they will treat you very well. One of the best features of an FNBO card is that every 3-4 months, you can call in to ask for a SP CLI on a per-card basis, which is how over the past 2 years, I was able to build one card with a SL of ~$2k to a current CL of $20k, and another card from a ~$4k SL also to $20k CL today. Based on my exp. with them so far, I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I wanting to decifer through the fine print a little further to make sure I didn't miss anything and here is where it becomes confusing to me it says:
"Save interest on balance transfers"
5.99% APR Fixed for Life
Until paid in full on balance transfers made in the first 3 billing cycles
Even if interest rates go up your 5.99% Apr is fixed for life made with the first 3 billing cycles
" it will stay the same for as long as it takes to be repaid"
0% intro APR on purchases until February 2018
After the intro rate expires a variable APR between 14.24 and 21.24% will apply depending on how you meet our credit criteria, based on the prime rate.
So does the 5.99 APR for life on apply toward my balance transfers only? And wouldn't actually be my permanent fixed apr rate? Do you know which credit bureau they pull?

Thanks for sharing more of the very interesting detais about the offer -- also definitely some very good questions! Based on the helpful offer language you had provided, I think maybe the best thing to do might perhaps be to call the phone number listed on the offer, so that you can inquire definitvely for sure with the card issuer if the 5.99% F for life APR is a go-to rate for purchases after the 0% promo offer expires, or if it only applies to certain BT offers? Also since the language appears to mention a reference to something about the 14.24% - 21.24% V range that you had listed above? (Btw, I genuinely hope that the 5.99% F for life APR applies as a go-to rate for you as that would be truly awesome; please let us know what you find out? ) Again all kind wishes and best of luck to you!
ETA: also just wanted to mention even if it turns out to be the worst-case scenario where the 5.99% F for life rate applies only to certain BT offers, the good news is that you can still apply for the BEFCU VISA, as low as 4.99% F on purchases and BT. The CU page mentions certain geo restrictions and only certain groups as eligible, but I was able to successfully app outside of the listed geo info, and so the card may technically be open to anyone in the U.S. apping for it -- if you need or would like more info, pls feel free to PM me.
Looks like the 5.9% is just for BTs. I can't see any credit card giving you that low of a rate for 'life' for purchases

Cap1 actually did do that low of a go-to range on purchases for certain super-prime cards they offered, back in the early- to mid-2000's or thereabouts -- alas very sadly though, they also did not always necessarily honor their own "for life" terms, especially during the time of CARD Act.
Old National Bank is a widespread regional one with branches all around Indiana.
I'm almost surprised that they haven't once solicited anything my way but then i am pretty well locked in with their nearest regional competitors so they likely have no motive to make a move in that direction. I am sure they are well aware of that.
As mentioned their cards are provided through FNBO.
Forum member 12njoy actually was approved for an Old National Bank Amex brand i think if memory serves, about a year ago.
And it is also correct that low rate is for BT's only.
