Just about anything you want to change on your Chase cards, it's going to be a HP. Visa Siggy upgrades, PCs, transferring CLs, CLIs... all going to cost you a HP.

Yup, Chase pretty much does everything Hard.

And it's probably easier to get a new account with Chase rather than request a CLI.

That's because they believe in the "go big or go home" philosophy. They play no games. You want a CLI? or PC? It's either the hard way or the highway In their book.

You will recover! It was only a HP.

@Anonymous: The statement isn't off by much....Chase and USAA are both hard-pull happy.

They do HPs for CLIs. I've never heard of anyone getting a HP from upgrading to Visa Signature, reallocating limits or PCs.

Capital one would not let me upgrade to quicksilver from quicksilver one without a HP. I told them no thanks.

Re: Oops, Freedom isn't a soft pull...

Visa Siggy upgrades - No
PCs - No
Transferring CLs - No
CLIs - Yes

All going to cost you a HP? Where is this information coming from? Only 1 out of 4 listed is correct.
Sorry this happened to you OP but its common for Chase to do HP cli. You may get lucky with automatic increases later but don't hold your breath. Now you know going forward. Smiley Happy

Vent? I haven't wanted a Fidelity Amex but after handling a customer's yesterday... happy I don't want one! Wow that's a cheap crappy feeling card! People give the Cap1 Quicksilver a bunch of crap... the QS feels downright premium compared to the Fidelity Amex card. (I've never had a problem with the QS card, and happy they've moved to indenting the card again).

They may have changed their policy since late 2012/early 2013, but I was able to PC my Platinum Visa (started as WaMu) to Freedom without a HP.

Sorry to hear!  Hey, that's what we're here for! Smiley Wink  Yes, Chase is always a HP.  I haven't asked for a cli from them for that reason.  And they never gave me an auto cli.  Discover is on fire right now!  If you want a sp cli, go to Discover & read the thread.  I feel the same.  I check everyday on my scores.  EX is good for dropping your score the lowest for a HP.
