Open Investigation with AMEX

So I applied last week for the PRG 50K offer. When I received my card I didin't see any type of document confirming the bonus welcome offer so I decided to check with AMEX today and the rep I spoke with said there was no bonus offer on my account. I told him that had to be a mistake as I specifically confirmed and waited for the offer before applying. So he told me not to worry and that he was opneing an investigation to get it resolved for me.

I really hope it does get resolved if not this will be truly messed up as the 50K offer was one of the biggest reasons for applying.

Re: Open Investigation with AMEX

I just opened 2 AX cards and was only given an offer on the first card.  It says in the terms that you are not eligible for the promo if you already have an account.  I see a AX in your sig - not sure if that's the new card or one you already had.  Perhaps you are not eligible since you already have an AX account?

They have that disclaimer all the time and it doesn't affect your ability to get bonuses from their credit cards whether you already have one or not

Re: Open Investigation with AMEX

The one in my sig is the one I opened last week. I have never had an AMEX account before, this is my first.

I don't think that it should affect it at all. Got the PRG 25k offer when I app'd through my login last week. You should see if you can get them to honor the offer on both cards, I'm sure amex will make it right. When I was approved I got the 25k MR points, then seeing all the 50k MR offer talk on here I spoke with a CSR and they were able to open a case review and bumped me up to the 50k offer. So I hope you'll have a good outcome OP.

Re: Open Investigation with AMEX

FYI-

When my PRG came there was no mention of a bonus offer included and I still got the 50k points.

Part me of me wants you to disregard what the CSR said (as they're known to be flat out wrong) and trust that everything is fine. But let us know what the investigation turns up.

+1 Mine came with no mention of the bonus I applied for as well

I think they make no mention in the welcome package because it changes so often between 25k-50k and that would require new printed material each time

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Open Investigation with AMEX

I did not see a bonus confirmation in the mailed paperwork, but they did follow up, either with email or on my online account that I had the 50k points if only I would complete the $1,000 spend.

Re: Open Investigation with AMEX

Everyone looks at their welcome package and emails when they get their card and see's no proof.  It will show up if you app'd through a bonus link.
