OpenSky CC

I have made a payment on my card this past Monday (6-6) long before the 10PM cutoff time. How much longer do I need to wait to see my available balance updated? The funds have already been cleared by the bank.

Re: OpenSky CC

That's a long time for the balance to not have updated yet. Unless this is thought of to be normal by other users, I'd call and find out what the hold up is.

It could take ten days or more.  This happened to me when I had Open Sky.  It took way too long to credit payments no matter how you made them (online or Express Mail).  I ended up closing my account because I could not take the stress of wondering if the payment would credit in time.  I contacted them but never got a reason for the delay.  Someone on this forum said that the day you made the payment is the date no matter when they actually credit your account.  It took two weeks or more after payment for them to update my balance.  A forum poster said this happens with many CC companies.  That may be a fact but I won't deal with any that take over two or three days to credit my payment and make my available balance update.  In this day and age you would think companies would be able to do these things quickly.  I might add Open Sky took the money out of my bank account to open the account within 24 hours but take forever and I mean forever to credit payments and release updated balance.  I just couldn't deal with the thought that taking so long to credit my payment was a way to charge extra fees and late payment fees.  Thankfully this didn't happen but I closed the account within a month of getting it.  I didn't need the drama.

You will probably be alright if you pay in enough time to allow you to wait on the balance update for 10 or so days. It's a good card for someone who isn't a worrier or don't need the available funds right away especially since they don't require a credit check.

Good luck and this card will help you rebuild if you have patience (which I don't).

Re: OpenSky CC

Well I finally received the updated available balance. It took exactly 7 days from last Monday. I didnt need the funds right away but I got a little worried a scam was waiting to happen, especially on subprime cards like this one.

Thanks everyone, back to working on my baddies to get approved for better cards....

7 days is great for this CC company.  Quite an improvement.  Good luck on credit file efforts.
