I have had my American Express Blue Cash Preferred card for over 2 years with a start up credit line of $2,000. A year later it was increased to $3,000, and last month I was given a $9,000 total credit line. Five months ago I applied for an American Express Gold Card and got it! I spend about $5,500 per month on it and pay it off like clock work.
Is there an Amex card that is worth having where you can pay off each month and or have it allow you to make payments on. Or would be be difficult for them to give me a 3rd card with my score? I have a 721 myFico and with American Express at this current time.
If you can justify the Value (HP and all) vs AF then why not go for it?
You can get the Everyday card. Then you will be able to keep your MR points if you ever decide to get rid of the gold card.
Thank you. I wasn't sure if Amex had a problem given out 3 cards. Can this drop your credit score too by adding another credit card. My experian just jumped to 725 this morning.
It would take a lot of grocery spend to need both BCP and Gold.
BBP is a popular card to pair with Gold or Platinum. Amex is pretty relaxed about customers using a small business card for personal spend, but it is advisable to have some legitimate use for a business card, too. So that may or may not be an option for you.
It gives 2x MRs on the first $50k of spend per calendar year, and 1x on spend beyond that.
