Others Having Sony Comenity Cards Closed?

Sony Comenity Card Holders,

Well, I thought it was a mistake, as i'm able to still login to my Sony Comenity account, and it shows like it's active. After starting a dispute with Experian, they've concluded that it was closed. And after trying to call and talk with someone, the system said it has been closed and disconnected me.

So, in the last year, i've seen my Comenity J Crew card close (ok, they're bankrupt, so no big surprise there). But, my Ikea Comenity closed, and now my Sony Comenity closed.

Ikea I wasn't so surprised about as I haven't used it since it was opened a couple of years ago.

But, my Sony card was with Capital One for many years, and I had the account for 12 years, but then it looked like Sony moved all the credit card business from Capital One to Comenity maybe 2 years ago.

Just wondering if others that have had Sony cards are seeing them closed abruptly, even if in good standing?

Thank you,

Bob

Re: Others Having Sony Comenity Cards Closed?

Typically, you can still access your online account with Comenity/CCB even after account closure.  If the limit is still shown, but the available credit displays as $0 (or not displayed) then the account is closed.

Unfortunately, Comenity has been known for adverse actions (account closures and/or CLDs) based on a variety of factors, namely excessive new accounts/inquiries or profile deterioration.
