Overstock Store Card Question

Good afternoon my fellow FICO-ers. I have been trying to get the SCT to work for Overstock.com for a while now and just can't seem to get it. There is something on there I wanted to purchase and I was hoping the credit card preapproval would pop up before purchasing so I could use it. Now, I did an online chat with an account specialist and she told me applying would only be a soft pull on my credit. For those of you that didn't get the preapproval and then straight out applied, is that true? was it a soft pull? If it's going to be a hard pull, I might as well just use one of my current credit cards to make the purchase instead of applying for their card. Thanks!

Re: Overstock Store Card Question

Sure you could trust the customer service rep when they say it's a SP but then you would be pretty upset when that HP appears on your CR. Anytime you initiate the application your more than likely going to get a HP. You can roll the dice and try but my money's on HP.

Re: Overstock Store Card Question

Thanks guys, I might just use one of my current cards that has a 0% purchase APR on it to purchase instead then!
