I applied for my AMEX Blue Cash Everyday version back in early July. Is it possible for me to to a PC to the preferred version now? Or do I need to wait a year? Anyone has experience doing this?
You can call them and find out. I think you have to wait 12 months before you can do PC. This is the due to latest Government Credit Card Regulations.
You have to wait a year to PC from BCE to BCP. This is because BCP has an annual fee (and due to the new credit laws). The only way around it is to apply for the BCP and take another hard hit on your CR. I would personally wait it out. I was told by Amex that you could PC to some of their other cards that have no AF (like your BCE).
I see. Thanks very much. I like how a 3-minute post on myfico saved me the trouble of calling AMEX. Sadly I see no point of losing my BCE, unless it is to move up to the BCP.

Amex will allow a PC after 13 months...

CreditMuppet is right. It is 13 months, not a year.
