Congrats! Give it 18 months and I'm sure you can get an AAdvantage sign up bonus

So first off, i dont recommend people doing this because you dont earn the sign up bonus. But if you're like me (hard in the garden) who has a non desirable FICO and is wanting a higher FICO for a better mortgage rate in the next 6-12 months, then it is possible to PC to almost any card if youre "eligible for conversion".
I told the CSR my situation and she said i could cancel the card after my mortgage and sign up again if i still wanted the AAdvantage sign up bonus in the future.
Also, she said the PC takes 51 days! Eek! It went from a Platinum MC to a World MC, cool!
Good deal OP. Yes, the key criteria for Citi's PC policy is "elegible for conversion". The only drawback is of course the 45-50 day waiting period for the PC to occur.

Thanks guys. and Hah! After my mortgage i'm going on a 30 App-O-Rama spree! Citi WHO?!
@FinStar, yeah, 51 days is too long. Yeah they said my account was even eligible for the Citi Executive AAdvantage WEMC if I wanted. Who knew Citi was so lenient with PCs (assuming your account has been in good standing for forever).
Chase won't let you PC unless there is blood relation between two cards, and even then, it's still all random if they'll let you PC or not.
btw, how does the NPSL work for the Citi World MC? Can I just charge above the CL and just PIF? Or do I have to call and set up NPSL first before I do anything?

The NPSL feature will be available once your account converts. You'll receive some information associated with the PC by mail which will explain some of the key changes. Typically, with either WMC or Visa Signature NPSL, any charges above your guidance line are due in full when the statement cycles in addition to whatever the minimun payment is for the other portion of your outstanding balance.

I tried to PC my partners thank you card but it's still 0% and they said while at 0% can't pc
Correct. Any existing promotions (BT or purchases) need to expire before they can consider whether the account is elegible.
So the same night I PC'd the card, I noticed my online account showed the new AA card with a new account number (last 4 digits). I decided to call to add an AU (you can't do it online while an account is pending).
Long story short, the CSR said "I'll go ahead and overnight the AU's card and waive the $6 fee". I told her I thought my account wouldn't convert until 51 days later and she said "Well I see an American Airlines WMC account is already created and the old one will deactivate as soon as you activate your card, did you receive you card yet?". I told her no and she said she'd overnight my card as well.
Got both my cards this morning and both working perfectly. The old ThankYou card is not even on the site anymore!
So for future PCers, it really doesn't take 51 days like they say! Literally 2 days to receive the new card! Of course and as always, YMMV.
