Don't think there is any benefit to having a visa over a mastercard (unless you all visa or all mastercard cards). I have both and they both work the same. One is daily spending and the other is just for auto bills.
There are some venues/events/places that will only take one network over the other. Also I think places like Sams Club only takes 1 network.

Besides the rewards and no AF, what is beneficial of having the Visa over the plain old MC?
Costco starting April 2016! I definitely need a decent Visa card within the next 12 months.

Update:
So after reading these responses, I was getting anxious to know what I really got upgraded to so I decided to call.
The rep over the phone told me they are both Quicksilver MC. I guess since its a soft pull, it doesn't hurt to upgrade to knock off both $39 AF and get the 1.5% cash back. I was also able to lower the APR on one card for 7 months.
What would be the next step in upgrading these? Would it be getting a CLI to 5K, and getting WMC? And then if they're WMC, are they more generous w limit increases? I don't want to have to be stuck in the 3k range for life
-- thanks again for all your input guys/girls
There is no technical credit limit for the world Mastercard or even the world eliete I just learned this myself. For getting a world you have to go through the executive office and probably wait six months since that's the usual time inbetween credit and account changes, but that's just what I was told when I asked.
Good luck
