PC from QuicksilverOne to Quicksilver?

This was my second card after beginning my credit rebuild (first was a Wells Fargo secured opened in March 2012). It's 13 months old. It began as a $500 limit. It was increased to $750 after credit steps, then $1,500 through EO. After waiting for the six-month period to end, I requested a CLI online and it was approved; they increased it $2,500, to $4,000. Problem is, I got my Chase Freedom a few weeks ago ($1,500 starting limit), and I made it my everyday card. However, I like Capital One's simple 1.5% rewards structure, I just hated the card design and thought I'd outgrew the rebuilding status.

I have searched the forums extensively regarding this, I just wanted more concentrated input. Should I request it by telephone, or the EO? The representatives that work chat seem useless, with their copy and paste responses. My scores have improved over 100 points since I received this card March 2014, from low-to-mid 500s, to around 660 across the board. I know the Quicksilver is marketed as for "excellent credit," which I do not have. I have a paid judgment (ironically to Capital One) that is set to fall off December 2016, which keeps me in the average/goood zone it seems.

Do I take a crack at PC'ing? Or do I simply enjoy my expanded utilization and continue on with the Freedom as my everyday card?

Yes, I'd go for it through the EO. You should be fine for a switch. Capital One's idea of "excellent" credit is way different than other lenders. I just don't understand what you'd be getting out of it? The card design is exactly the same, as is the rewards structure - the two things you mentioned. Are you wanting a larger credit line?

There's no AF on the QS MC, there is a $39 AF on the QS1 MC.  I switched my Platinum card to the non-AF QS MC after it got a CLI from $1500 -> $4500 and closed my QS1 which only was at $850...

You can also work towards the quicksilver world Mastercard. The best bet is to try secure message and than if that fails go through the executive office, I. Waiting on approval for my change to a world MasterCard quicksilver right now.

while the executive office may be a pretty much straight shot I like to secure message first before I call but to each there own, good luck though

Re: PC from QuicksilverOne to Quicksilver?

Good luck OP.

There are two possible outcomes in your situation.  They will either do it right away no problem or they will never ever do it in a million years no matter what.  From what I've seen there is no logical way to determine which bucket they will decide to put you in.  You just have to try it and see.

Re: PC from QuicksilverOne to Quicksilver?

They wouldn't do it for me, though they permanently waived the AF, so there really isn't a difference. Now I'm prequalified for QS but decided to app for something else. They just gave me a nice large CLI, maybe I'm finally out of their crap bucket.

Re: PC from QuicksilverOne to Quicksilver?

I appreciate everyone's input! As previously mentioned, I do want the version without the annual fee. Although I'm aware that Capital One will waive it under certain circumstances, this is killing two birds with one stone. And this may be the most superficial reason anyone has ever heard, but I want the Quicksilver now that my credit has improved. I doubt an average person knows the difference, but I always get self-conscious when I'm out to dinner (for example) with people, and everyone is putting their fancy American Express, etc., cards in and I pay with my flimsy QuicksilverOne. It's like driving a rust bucket through college, graduating, getting a well-paying job, but keeping the rust bucket when you could get something better.
