So I had a Citi Double Cash World MasterCard that I decided was redundant after getting the Blispay Visa and PayPal 2% Cashback MasterCard. Recently I finished up doing a product change on the Citi Double Cash to a Citi Dividend Platinum Select. Does anyone see something wrong here or is it just me? I asked for a Citi Dividend and was expecting a Citi Dividend World MasterCard like my family member had and they downgraded my card level. I thought the card converts level to level if it exists.
Gotta research things like this beforehand. You can change your mind and tell them you want the DC back w/o any issues. They have a 45 day window to revert changes. The DC only comes in a WMC... since the Dividend is a legacy card that came out prior to W/WEMC was even a concept it's potential to land in your hands as a platinum is possible.
I didn't see the point of converting to it since it's basically like every other 5% rotating card out there.

The bolded part is not entirely accurate. The Double Cash when initially launched was issued as Platinum MC and WMC several years ago. However, the product was refreshed to align with the rest of the MC "tiers" (i.e. swipe revenue) and the Double Cash was reissued as WEMC. In a variety of situations it can still be issued as WMC. The Dividend Card is currently available as Platinum MC, WMC and WEMC. Plus, a variety of PCs can have mixed results depending on the PC direction and product since an account's internal coding will determine what it will yield once PC'd ... not much that a CSR or Supervisor can do in these situations.
OP, as an aside, if you're not pleased with the aesthetics (the Dividend still functions as a category product regardless of tier level) you can opt to not accept the terms/PC and revert back to Double Cash.

zerofire ... was going to explain everything but, FinStar already did! Could explain my p/cs with Citi Cards that are the same cards you are interested in but, the only important point is that it is hit or miss on what Citi will do with the card p/c (I had a Citi Forward Visa SIgnature Card that converted to a Citi Double Cash as a Platinum MasterCard) and in further reading over a few years this was the norm. Citi Card p/c's were hit and miss on how they converted.

Good info in @FinStar's post...I would ask for the Double Cash back if I were you.
Well, only if OP (somehow!) get value out of the "enhanced" tiers. The OP's
PPMC makes the 2% feature of the DC useless, and the Dividend provides some additional 5% categories which may well be more useful.
I have had the same situation with Citi: I PCd my (old style) Premier which was a VS and it became a Plat DC, and the same with another Citi card. I didn't care as the tiers are useless for me, and, as FinStar mentions, the DC was later "refreshed" to a WEMC.
