PC to Lower Card to Avoid fees?

If for instance you get the CAP One Savor card and keep it for the first year will they let you downgrade to the Savor One? The SUB and the 4% is nice for the first year but would take 10k eating out to break even for the difference between the two cards after that.
Thanks.

From what I've read on these boards, it is pretty common. I plan to PC my Alliant CB, which has a 3% SUB, to the 2% card before the AF kicks in next year. Hopefully someone else can chime in on risk of AA.

While many of the big lenders like American Express, Bank of America, Chase, and Citi, make it easy to product change (at least within product families, although even that is not usually an issue with Citi), Capital One can be hit or miss for product change eligibility upward or downward.  With CapOne I wouldn't plan on it absolutely being an option, but that doesn't mean they won't allow it.

Cap1 is definetely not the best for welcoming PCs to lesser AF cards. Most movement within Cap1 is PCs to other non AF cards or non AF to AF cards.

A lot of people do that so I can’t foresee a problem for you. Good luck!
