Here we go again . First BECU now I got a fraud alert someone tried to use my card for a 5.00 purchase 12 times WTH. Transaction code IQBC WBR
now I gotta call them . This is the second time with PNC . All reports on ice 🤬
What are you a magnet? This is nuts. Sorry again. This isnt the first time with PNC if I remember correctly. They were testing your account then whamo. Here comes the larger fraud charges. You have the worse luck @Jnbmom . Phones getting a workout. And your nerves.

Yes you are correct thus happen to both my husband and my account a few months ago as well with PNC . Quite annoying to say the least .
Sometimes the type of charges, business charges were made at, and location (Geo) of charges can help narrow down the culprits.
Over the years the charges I've had to dispute as fraudulent came from 3 different sources: 1. A waiter I handed my card to copied the info and later tried to charge $500 at Walgreens online using their residential mailing address within the town the restaurant was I ate at. 2. Wendy's drive thru cashier copied my card info and used the free Wendy's wifi to buy shoes online. 3. One of my children swiped a card and made charges on it at the local ice cream shop.
Moving forward, I never let my cards out of my sight anymore. I won't eat places that won't let me watch them charge the card at the register.
Since I started doing that, I've had zero fraud charges in the last 2 years (knock on wood). 😉

Thing is these cards are in my binder and have not been used . Heck the PNC card is the replacement for the last fraud with them and I have never used it yet .
called very painless cancelled that card ordered another card .

Anyone else have access to your binder in the household or is it locked up?
Probably not in your case, but One of my sons took my card out of the binder and snuck it back after they used it in the past.
I lock up my sockdrawed cards now days to prevent that.
With my children, I've learned to expect the unexpected. Lol

Yup and now when I look the card up it is totally gone on BECU website hopefully when it get new card and activate it will appear .
Sorry for the frustrating fraud, @Jnbmom. It seems in this digital age, it's becoming easier and easier for crooks to commit electronic fraud, even with the cardholders taken additional precautions. I've had fraud on debit, credit, and HSA cards in the past five years that in some cases were on cards that were NEVER even activated or used and remained secure in my home. It sounds like either some inside jobs or very clever hacking. It seems we will just have to be extra vigilant from now on to counter these attempts.
After one fraud on that HSA account at a medical practice 1500 miles away from my home, the vendor my company uses to manage that portion of my benefits was utterly useless in rectifying it. I had to write it off and then just stopped taking advantage of the HSA due to the fraud potential. Not worth the headache for the small savings in taxes.
Similar story on a PenFed debit card that I NEVER used, yet it was accessed for fraud. That one, I was able to get PenFed to reimburse and investigate.
