BBVA to PNC CC payment problems

As you know all BBVA cards went to PNC, well my checking and savings too. Anyway, with the cards that where transfered you can not make a payment two days in a row. You have to skip a day between payments. Could it be that I have some of the settings wrong? How can I fix this?

On my cards that PNC originated to me I can make daily payments with no problem but not on the transfered BBVA cards. When the cards transfered over there must have been a default setting but I have no idea how to get around it. Enclosed is a PNC statement from one of my BBVA transfered cards. What am I missing here?

Thank you in advance,

My checking account and two credit cards with BBVA are now at PNC.

I tried to make payments on the PNC site. It accepts a payment lets say on a Monday. Then if you try to make a payment the next day on a Tuesday you get an error message that a payment was recently made. So I waited until the next day, Wednesday and tried again and this time it was accepted.

On the BBVA cards you can not make payments at PNC the following day of your last payment. You have to skip a day in between. I do not have this issue on my old PNC cards just on the BBVA cards. I would prefer to be able to make payments as I seem fit and not be blocked out from paying them.

Is there a reason you don't just push your payments through via a checking account? In other words, skip the card's payment options altogether, and use your bank's bill pay to make your payments. This is how I pay all of my bills, and most of the major banks, like Amex and Citi and Discover, credit my payment the very same day I make them via my BofA account. Of course, some have a little lag time, but these days that's very minimal, like a day or two at most. Unless there's a compelling reason to use the card's payment options, I highly recommend doing it the other way around!

Ah, like doing the payments from my banks bill pay service. I wonder if PNC will allow me to do that from my PNC checking account or will I have to use my main WF account?

Thanks

Right! That way you're in control of how/when/where/how much or how often you pay. I've seen a lot of posts about CCs not allowing multiple payments through their own payment service, but never anything about rejecting multiple payments made through another source, like your bank's bill pay.  I'm not in the multiple-payments-per-month club, but if I were, I don't *think* there would be any issues with any of my accounts accepting multiple BofA payments.

WOW ok thanks. I never thought of doing that. I pay all my cards daily. The day a pending transaction converts to a posted one I pay it that same day. I do not like to owe cards any money. I do have to have 2% utilization report each month though to avoid a hit on my scores if it goes any lower. I hate having it show up on my reports that I have a balance but if you don't owe out money you are not considered favorable by FICO scoring system. The higher my available credit goes each month makes it so I have to have more and more report. This is another reason that I want to be in the garden. Live and learn

Thanks

Mark

You're welcome!

As for 'live and learn,' absolutely! I learn something new every day, or at least it seems like that. I know I learn a lot just hanging around this forum--and after a zillion years of having credit, it's surprising to find out how much I DON'T know! Smiley Surprised
