That's what he said. It sucks. I'm actually probably going to close the card sometime during this next year. It's done it's job at getting me higher limits and now it's just collecting dust in the SD. The rewards suck and the apr is so high that I would never even consider carrying a balance. Closing it will make room for better cards. Don't get me wrong though. It's an absolutely fantastic card for anybody that is building or rebuilding.

This is toooo funny.....I have had this (paypal) card for awhile....I recently cancelled a Cap 1 card that had a custom design (one that is my creation) Cap 1 originally declined it due to "copyright" issues (IT'S MY DESIGN, I am an artist) so had to call and explain that it was MY design, well, now I notice that PayPal has same customizing on the card, so I take the design that was on Cap 1 and submit to PayPal, they deny...not calling don't really care, BUT send in another.....litterally EVERYDAY I send one in and the next day it gets denied...LMAO  it now has become a joke, denied in the morning (email always comes in a 6:30am) and everyday I send another....9 days now straight....since it is Christmas I have not heard today from the one I sent yesterday.....I want to see how long this goes on!! Glad to hear the printing is not so good, I don't feel bad now!!  Good luck OP with getting the standard card design back, not sure WHY you can't, their explanation seems weak.....

The explanation kind of makes sense to a degree, if the design was chosen when you initially applied and thereby becomes the "default" one, as opposed to once you get approved and then get the card and submit a new custom design which would render the "classic" (default) one still available.  Thankfully, I kept mine after seeing a couple of my friends' cards (both eBay and PayPal Extras) how the end result on the card was, well less than appealing ...even if the original custom design looked good prior to submission.

Hopefully, you may be able to get it to work OP.

Let us know if you have different results. If I don't  cancel mine it would be nice to get that design.

Couldn't you just find the original card design you want and upload that as a custom?  Surely they own their own design...
