I'm laughing at Reddit right now. I can't post there because I've been banned.
Here's the thread:
I would tell them that the PayPal Rewards are different than the PayPal Cashback Mastercard and the PayPal Debit card. But I can't, because I've been banned as a Gen-X who oftimes makes fun of Gen-Zeros.
Anyway, no, PayPal Rewards is NOT the same as the PayPal Cashback Mastercard NOR is it the same is PayPal Debit card rewards.
Specifically, PayPal rewards are the "click through" rewards you get when you see a deal on PayPal for "3% back at Sephora" or whatever and you click through and make the purchase with that link.
I hate Reddit so much. So many dummies and it really caters to the lowest common denominator of mankind on the internet. And if you post truth there, you get downvoted; ask me how I know. Reddit should be bought by Musk and made better, IMHO. End the Reddit downvote: you will be downvoted by tons of echo-chamber tards; this does not help mankind.
These are my tips to you, humanity. You will not care and thus you will be eradicated. After my passing, God willing. I hope enough Gen Betas are around to scrub my derrier. That is all.
I'm surprised you got banned from reddit. This post is the exact type of smugness and condescension that usually does numbers there!

Yeah, Reddit is the place for self-aggrandizing kids like this (and I can call him a kid, being a Baby-Boomer myself). I'd say he's likely well on his way to getting banned from here, as well. Certainly not a "community" type of person.

Why were you banned from Reddit?
Thank you for the reply, @Pppoolboy. That completely answers my question.

Oh dear god Brutal Body Shots is one of the most ridiculous basement dwellers of Reddit. I see his/her posts all over r/creditcards. Dude, you need to get a life. I'm so sorry for you. How many reddit posts have you made?
We want to know. 100,000? You're such a loser.
Holy sh*t at least change your name from platform to platform. LOL
What does your name even mean? You're a weirdo top to bottom.
I take it slapping the platinum card down didn't impress the cute bartender last night? I'm sure reviewing these posts hungover will be... less than satisfying.
What? Paypal calls their points Paypal rewards. They show that way when you earn & redeem them for cashback.

My conclusion is: you are right about the Mastercard cashback and wrong about the Debit card cashback.
The Mastercard earns Cash Rewards:
As a PayPal Cashback Mastercard or PayPal Cashback World Mastercard (each a “Card”) Account (“Card Account”) Accountholder, you will earn cash back rewards (referred to as “Cash Rewards” or “Cash Back”)
Cash Rewards can be converted to Paypal Rewards, so must be distinct from them:
You may also have the ability to convert and/or transfer your Cash Rewards to Points under and as defined in the terms and conditions governing the PayPal+ Rewards Program
The Debit card earns Paypal Rewards:
https://www.paypal.com/us/campaign/ppdc-debit-5per-cashback-category-tnc
How it Works: The PayPal Debit Card 5% cash back monthly category rewards feature allows Eligible Participants to earn PayPal Rewards Points (“Points”)
...
Reward Redemption: Points earned under the PayPal Debit Card 5% Cash Back Monthly Category Rewards Feature will be available in an Eligible Participant’s Account Overview section of their PayPal account to redeem for cash and other redemption options pursuant to the terms and conditions in the PayPal Rewards Program Agreement.
Points from Paypal Offer and Paypal Debit card sources are both shown on the Paypal and Honey "Paypal Rewards" pages:

Yes, because Twitter is clearly "better" now.
Oof.
