I made some payments last Friday (2/14) with all my cards and noticed that all 3 of my Chase accounts have not updated "available credit". it looks like its reflecting what the statement #s were, but not anything in real time. Usually I understand it may take a few days for it to reflect, all payments posted (and cleared), but still no movement.
I know I can call em, just thought I would post up
Have you had the Chase accounts for a while?
Did you add a new payment account to Chase and paying from it?
Were any of the payments very large?
They could be having some issues with their payment processing. I won't be making a payment to Chase until Wednesday, otherwise if I would have noticed as well, then we could chalk it up to a delay in their payment processing.
yeah, Ive had all of these for 6+ years that I can remember. One payment was a bit on the spendy side, but nothing I havent paid before. No new payment accounts or anything that would question my paying. Ive made single payments of $800, $2500, $7500 in the past.
Depending on when on Friday you made the payment, it may not have been actually processed until Tuesday due to the weekend and holiday. I actually still have pending Lyft transactions from Monday and Tuesday on my CSR.
So the payment is posting in your Chase account, the money has been taken from your payment account, its just that the available credit is not increasing by the amount you paid?
@Cardnut
yes. They all show payments posted in real time. I haven't made any charges to any of them since then. They just show the "statement" info.
i've experienced this before with my cap one.
made a payment..funds were taken from account..cap one shows paid but available balance never updated.
i called cap one about it, they told me that they never received confirmation from my bank that the funds were released for payment.
so it stayed on pending for like a week.
i told them that the funds were already taken from my account, so me and the rep called my bank over a 3-way call and the bank had to verify the transaction number of the payment on their end.
cap one added the info to my account and funds were available.
Hmm. I haven't seen that before. If your payment wasn't at least in pending mode in your bank account, I would say wait until that shows.
The only time I've ever had that occur was with my Propel card. I used a brand new payment account and the amount was $11,600. The payment posted on the card ($0 balance), and the payment was withdrawn from my bank account, but my available credit stayed at something like $1,273 for 2 weeks, instead of $12,000.
It could be a temporary issue with Chase or a change in policy with the timeline in making credit available. I will pay attention to mine in a week to see if it occurs with my Chase payment. Other than that, not sure what's behind it.
I dont mind it waiting, but it wont report paid if its still "pending" past the report date? Im not sure.
Not a big deal, Im not apping for anything right now, but Ive just never seen this.
I called Chase.
I made these payments on 2/14, they posted at my bank on 2/18. Chase said they were "on hold until today" so he sent me over to a payment guy who "released" the holds. I asked him why its never happened before, he said he didnt know why, but its random (first for me ever on any card) and its all good to go now.
