I've made a few Chase card payments in the last week, and all have been reflected in my available credit immediately. The payments were drawn from a Chase checking account, if that makes any difference.

I made these payments on 2/14, they posted at my bank on 2/18. Chase said they were "on hold until today" so he sent me over to a payment guy who "released" the holds. I asked him why its never happened before, he said he didnt know why, but its random (first for me ever on any card) and its all good to go now.
Lol. Sounds like a software issue. Randomly occurs, and then, let me fix that for you right away.....
If there was a reason for a hold, they would say it will be released after such and such, give it 2 more days.
Good to know.
cool! glad you got it taken care of.

Yes, makes a difference (and in general applies to paying a credit card from a bank account owned by an issuer). They can either verify directly that the funds are in the bank account, or have enough "trust" that they won't lose out. When paying from another bank, they have less trust that the payment might not be reversed for some reason
