Hello i have a question about the paypal mastercard. I have the card since june and when i try to make a payment bigger than the statement it doesn't allow me to do it. I'll try to explain better, my card has a really low limit (300$) and sometimes i wanted to use it for bigger purchase (5-600$) i always pay a balance immediatly as it appears making like 2-3 payments per week but i can't pay like a 1000$ so i'll be able to make a larger purchase (And sometimes i got stucked waiting for the balance to appear and can't use the card since it's maxed out). Is it something not allowed? i do it frequently with BoA but it's impossibile with Paypal. The only reason i try to do it is because i use a lot paypal and the 2% back it's not bad
I wanted to try to send the payment from my bank account but i'm afraid they refuse the payment

Most of my cards won't let me pay more than the current balance when setting the payment to pull from my bank account on their site. When paying the card you bank's Bill Pay the card almost always accepts a payment higher than the current balancee resulting in a credit balance. But I'm not sure Synchrony would let you over pay 3x the credit limit so you could make a $1000 purchase, and I'm pretty sure Sync would not like it, they set CLs for a reason.
You've had the card for over 6 months, have you requested a CLI yet? It's right there next to your Available Credit, a button "Request More", and CLIs are a soft pull. And I'd suggest just being a bit more patient, Sync accounts are known to grow rapidly with good usage & payments.
Yes i've tried a couple of times in the last months and they alwasy declined for not enough experience at current credit limit, even if i call. Last month i had abad experience with DIscover and here on the forum people suggest me is better to stop apply or ask for CLI so i'm not doing anything until my inquiries fall off and new account age.
I was worried about the overpayment that there is some kind of mistake even if i don't understand why since i'm basically giving them more money but i don't want to mess up they already sent me the blue envelope and i don't want to poke the bear.
Anyway i've noticed that paypal gives cash back even on the business debit i should probably use that instead of the credit card and i shouldn't have any pre set limit, hope it's not only when you physical use the card in a store.
call number back of your card
pay over the phone with your checking to any amount you like
but that can be a problem ? i did in the last months with BoA for large amount and it always worked but i'm worried is something the lender doesn't like. I mean as said before they give certain CL for a reason
Well this actually makes sense, I don't know if they're worried about a fraud or something but it's totally better to avoid do an overpayment like i was worried.
I don't particulary care for the card, i can simply stop using and switch to the debit card i'm way more worried to not mess up my record.
thank you!
I understand that, even with BoA when i pay more than the limit it report a negative balance but not always i have an higher limit
No i have a BoA Cash rewards for 2600
Quicksilver for 500
Aspire for 1500
