I'm tired of having so many cards. I went down to 5 but am really looking to go to 3. I used to be one of those so excited about getting more and more cards with higher and higher limits. After a while, it is something that burns out. The fact that PenFed offers higher limits than most is not something that interests me. I don't ever use the card. I know I can keep it in the SD but no reason to since I don't want it or use it. I've only had the card since 2013 and if I want another PenFed card, I'll just apply again.

Amex BCE $10,000 | BofA Power Rewards WMC $10,000 | Discover It $10,000 | ICBC Preferred Gold UnionPay $8,000 | Local CU Visa $3,500

I get it.  if you have enough credit and you know it then that is all that needs to be said.

AA shouldnt be a sport. If you dont want the card you should just call and say its not closed yet and you would like it closed immediately. To play with fire is to set a bad precedent in my humble opinion.

Agree 100% with this and wish to add - trying to burn the house down over the failure of one poor CSR to push the right button isn't exactly an example of "making the punishment fit the crime" - it's an example of looking for an excuse to burn the house down!

Did PenFed offend you so utterly as to make you look for the nuclear option rather than another 5 minute phone call to correct a mistake?  If so, please tell that story, and I promise we'll bring the popcorn!
