Re: PenFed Defender AMEX

I have Visa version...50k CL at 9.24% scores in 800s, but remember Pen Fed uses a different scoring model so I don't know my current score w their model.

Re: PenFed Defender AMEX

Thanks guys, I wasn't aware of their different scoring model?? Do you all have more than one card with them? If so, did you apply immediately or wait? Do they generally give a second card with such a generous limit?

Re: PenFed Defender AMEX

I had the AMEX and Visa Defender 40k and 10k, combined to one Visa 50k.  That's their max exposure.

Nice Navy! Well, I'm not sure if I should apply for another of their cards now or wait. Army vets don't need as much credit as Navy folks we pay cash.

OP that is a nice limit. I had scores about 20 points higher and only got just under a third of that.

Thanks RM! I really was very, very surprised to see this large of a limit come through and thought about applying for another card with them but not sure about it.

Re: PenFed Defender AMEX

I have the Defender Amex, starting limit was $16k with a 10.99APR which changed to 11.24 with the fed change earlier this year. Score was in the low 700's.

I applied for a second card six months later another HP and had to move some of the defender's limit to open the new card. I have had two cli's on the defender for a total of $8.5k all one the same HP from 4/16 when I opened the new card.
