PenFed snail mail pre-approval

Having no relationship with PenFed I was surprised to receive a snail mail pre-approval. It was for the Power Cash Rewards Visa Signature card with an 11.99% APR. I would have to become a member. From what I've read on these forums, PF is worth a HP. Any thoughts on me going for it?I

Stats: scores in upper 700's or low 800's. Last card was a second Home Depot in 11/2019. Total CL over $170K. Two HP on each CR. Must admit I am blacklisted by BoA because of a dispute. Oldest open card is just over five years. Oldest reporting over 24 years.

Someone else posted about receiving one of these recently. Not sure how their profile looked, but they were denied.

Your profile looks good to me and a easy approval IMHO. You'll have to become a member before pulling the trigger.

Ill never understand PF. They wont extend credit to their own members yet send out preapprovals to non members?. I would take that letter with a grain of salt and no , PF isnt really woth a hard pull lol. Sorry , thats my biased opinion haha but i wish you luck if you do trySmiley Happy

If you don’t fit their criteria perfectly, you may end up being another member of PDA (Pendread Anonymous).

If its snail mail, it may be more solid but nothing is ever a guarantee with them. They seem to like to make up denial reasons. Best of luck if you go for it!

The apply by date is the end of July. Think I'll wait to see what happens over the next three months. I'm liking being in the garden.
