I don't think I have read of a Penfed CLD .. although I suppose it could happen. (this is credit)

+1
While not impossible, I don't remember reading CLD from Pen. CLD is usually found from Chase, Citi, sync and lenders like that. Not common with a CU.

The CSR said they could only move 8k, which seems inconsistent with what I've read in the past. Possibly a new policy, but I haven't spoken to another CSR for verification.
Bumping a little older thread here, but I was wondering if @PullingMeSoftly had attempted calling again, or if @tussking had tried calling to combine limits?
I just called and after navigating through the prompts and waiting about 20 minutes (thank you speakerphone so I could keep working), I was told that PenFed no longer reallocates limits between credit cards, and that I would need to close one card and then submit a new application to request and be approved for a credit line increase on the other card. I don't particularly want to take a HP at the moment to do this and then still risk not being approved for a ~$20k credit line increase, but was hoping to trim some fat from my sock drawer without losing my total credit lines with the cards. Even as a consolation prize, I would have been okay with moving like $5500 from PCR to Defender so they didn't have those odd $19,500 and $29,500 limits.
Has anyone else had recent success with a PenFed close-and-combine? Normally I would try HUCA, but that was quite a few prompt menus to get through and a fairly long wait for a 20 second conversation, so I would do so if someone has had recent success but not in a rush to try again if not.

Hey @K-in-Boston - this was my experience back in March. I haven't seen anything beyond that given the PenFed AmEx > Visa account conversions. Hopefully, you're still able to move things around 👍
@K-in-Boston I ended up getting an offer in October and took a CLI to my PCR, so I stopped pursuing reallocation once that card was brought above the 25k/card threshold. Coincidentally, however, I recently called in to see if I could PC my Plat Rewards to a Pathfinder, and if not, revisit the possibility of moving whatever I could to the PCR and close out the Plat Rewards.
The answers I received: No to the PC and no to reallocation (not even the 8k I was told before). All roads lead to having to applying for a new account. Pass.

@FinStar thank you. February me was active in your thread. March me missed the tag that it was successful after your update. Wonder if this might be a policy change or if I just got a CSR that was misinformed?

Me thinks you should HUCA. Me believes your charm can make it work. Let us know 😛
