My fiance just got approved for this card and I was wondering if anyone had any info on the value of the rewards and where you can use them? The information was very vague online. The only thing I could gather was you that you get the intro 50,000 bonus points if your spend 3k ranged from $500-$750 in value. I also diddnt think about how we switched from access america checking to the new free checking they offer and I don't even know if we will qualify anymore for the advantage status that results in no annual fee. I thought about rolling all my bills back into my power cash card too and setting up my direct deposit again with penfed. I wonder if I can revert back to the other checking. Sorry for ranting just trying to figure out this card and plan for our vacation this year.
Once you accrue rewards, there will be a link out to redeem.penfed.org from your account page. Once on the site you can purchase GC, merchandice, travel, or donate to charity. For most GC you will get $0.0085 per point, so that your 50K will be worth $425 for a GC. They have "sale" GC items where you can get closer to $0.01 and for travel, supposedly you can get $0.01 or higher. The most popular sale GC's tend to sell out quickly, so you'll want to jump on those when you can. Most recently there was Apple GC on sale for nearly $0.01 but they sold out very quickly. Currently there is a deal on Lowes GC which could be lucrative for some people.
Are you able to redeem PenFed rewards for travel only in their travel portal or are you able to redeem points towards travel purchase as well?
Just travel through their site. I haven't seen any purchase eraser like other cards have.
To get 4x on travels, does the ticket need to get purchased via a specific portal? If yes, what is the address of the portal?

You have to 1) be an Honors Member, and 2) purchase qaulified travel with your Pathfinder Rewards CC with any merchant. You do not need to use their portal.
To bypass the AF as an honor member, is it required to provide a total DD of $500 per month (e.g. two DD per month, each $250)? Or does it require a single DD>$500 per month?
PS: I ask this because BOA perviously charged me with monthly fee for checking account, mentioning that they want a single DD>$250 (but not total DD of $250 per month)
.
There are two ways, one is through being a military service member (active, reserve, retired, honorably discharged). The other is though maintaining a minimum daily balance in a checking account.
Members with a Free Checking account must also 1) maintain a minimum $500 daily balance OR 2) set up monthly direct deposits of $500 or more in order to maintain Honors Advantage Eligibility. A minimum balance or direct deposit is not required to maintain a Free Checking account.

That's not what @xenon3030 was asking. They were asking about what satisfies the minimum $500 DD requirement - whether a single $500 deposit, or two separate $250 deposits.

It's right there in the quoted text "monthly direct deposits of $500 or more". Either a single $500 or multiple deposits totaling $500 or more each month will satisfy the requirement. A minimum deposit amount of $500 would say "monthly direct deposit of $500 or more", meaning one single transaction must be $500 or more.
