Since I have the Platinum Rewards card, this seems like a poor idea, as I would be earning 1point per $, and points are worth 0.85c approx
But searching, the claim is that when used for travel, a point is worth about 1.7c (so gas would earn 8.5% and groceries uncapped 5.1%)
Have people here found that to be the case? It would certainly change my opinion about using it for gas and groceries!
Doing some extensive research (= looking up one flight) I find a BOS-LHR economy lite to by 80K points or $672 from the airline. So, not always a good choice!
