Just logged into my Penfed account. Current limit is 32,600.00. Looked into account options and it showed request a cli. Haven't seen that option in close to a few years. Actually the last time I spoke to them on the phone, my account was not eligible. Anyone else seeing this? Has anyone tried?

I think I will tomorrow and see if I can get an answer. I did attempt it with bureau froze just to see what would happenm being over the 25k limit. Interestingly enough, they attempted to pull my report. I'm firmly in the garden at the moment. Keeping my head low to avoid any possible AA by any of my other cards. Just sp for me for now until end of the year. Kind of strange it showing up though being over the 25k.
Please let us know what you find out. Thanks!
Last year I saw the CLI on my Penfed Power Cash and requested CLI and got an email stating you are at Max limits on all 3 Cc's. The Max total on Cc's is $50,000 unless you are grand fathered .

I spoke to a csr who could not give me a definitive answer. Only said credit limits are based off what a profile can support. I have a single card sitting at 32600. That was increased maybe 2 years ago. I have not seen a cli option till the other day. Last time I spoke to them they had told me I was not eligible. They asked me would I care to continue to apply as file is frozen. I opted out. They were notorious for pyramiding of debt. Adding 70k in new credit availability in last 8+ months drops me well in that bucket, lol. Maybe the end of the year I will give it a shot. My thing was this is the first I'm seeing a cli option in about 2 years.
I have their cap of 50k. One card at 30k and one card at 20k... 30k card no CLI option and 20k card cli option exists. Maybe they also raised their 50k threshold? We need some GP's other than myself . 50k with inflation is the new 30k.

That would be nice if they did increase it. I've had $29,500 (Defender) and $19,500 (PCR) for years now, never wanted to take a HP for a pair of $500 CLIs, and have never once had a CLI listed under Offers (aka the Turbo Tax Spot). If they'd combine limits, I would just get rid of the PCR! I do have a link for CLI on both cards on the Accounts page, however, even the grandfathered Defender.
You probably see the CLI request now because you are probably eligible for a Cli. You are not at max on your Cc so you would probably get approved. Never know unless you take a chance. 🤔
Thanks for your posting, @Traveler101. I am the Guinea pig for the forum. I saw your post late last night and it piqued my interest. I have a PCR with $41.7K CL that I had hoped to grow to $50K but PF changed their rules a couple of years ago. I had even previously called before and appealed to a supervisor who said he might be able to approve it with the HP but couldn't guarantee their automated system wouldn't flag it and reduce the limit. I put it on the back burner.
Since my EQ was at 0/24 last night, I decided to go for it. I noticed the CLI seems to be part of a new web interface they are testing, and I saw the CLI request link immediately. I applied with income and housing payment. Got a denial screen immediately. And CK reported an EQ HP minutes later. I knew it was a risk but I was still pretty annoyed at the unnecessary HP.
I called Customer Service today and the rep spoke with a supervisor. She confirmed the $25K individual account /$50K aggregate limits still exist. And she confirmed the reason for my denial was since I already exceeded that limit. She said no appeal was available. She offered to lower my PCR and then attempt to use the HP on another new card to give me the $50K aggregate, but I don't want another PF card and she also couldn't confirm there would not be an additional HP. I passed.
I did tell her the flaw in their website allowing ineligible customers to apply for a CLI with unnecessary hard pulls needed to be fixed immediately. She agreed and said she would pass it along. Later, I saw PF had emailed me a case number for my Credit Bureau Dispute Request so perhaps they are trying to reverse it after I told her I was careful taking hard pulls.
Moral to the story: If your limits are under the $25K/$50K thresholds, the CLI request might work ... if you're willing to take the HP. If you're over those limits, save yourself the trouble as it will likely go nowhere.
