You have to find the right balance. While opening new accounts does tend to decrease AAoA, having more tradelines does build AAoA. In other words, one with more aged tradelines will generally see less of an impact to AAoA from opening a new account versus someone with fewer and younger tradelines.
thanks but unfortunately, im with the latter group! hence the ~~~ AAoA > new tradelines for me.
So the million dollar question still remains lol....how can I get the overdraft protection?

You're going to have to call them and see if it's available after the fact. It's called the Thrifty Credit Service and I don't see it listed under their available products. It's only $500 and as I I said earlier it reports as a new revolving credit and will affect your AAoA.
Thanks Irish....the rep did tell me I could get it after and that's when I said I'll think about it.
I see your edit and quite frankly, I'm being greedy all because of that 90 days HP hahahahaha. I won't hurt my head as I do not need it. However, I may grab a PLOC while I can and really sit in the deepest darkest part of the garden. Between mid March and April, I've grabbed 6 cards and 1 car loan

Personally I think the PLOC is a better option.

See my edit lol.
You're right! I'm thinking this one through because I am not exactly sure HOW it would benefit me at the moment. I'm in the garden but I won't be suprised if I come out for the PLOC. I just feel like I'm leaving something on the table LOL

Doro,
I grabbed to LOC and from what the UW told me it's very easy to work with, you just transfer an amount to your checking account or write checks, unlike NFCU where it attaches directly to your checking account or a check.
good luck in the garden, I'll be in there too....
Got approved for $8000 @16.24% Yeah, my biggest visa yet!!
