I will call and merge my DC TY account into my Premier account.
Question: I don't have the Rewards+ card, but if you do, I understand there is a 10% rebate on point redemptions.
Does that apply only to the Rewards+ TY account number, or can you combine with Premier and get the 10% rebate on Premier TY point redemptions too?
With the Rewards+ card linked to the same TYP account, yes you can get 10% of your redemptions back for the first 100,000 points each year (10k maximum return, but could be worth $100-$200 every year just to hold onto a no-AF card).
Question: will a person who has only a Citi DC account be able to share his TYP's with another member, as he could do if he had a Premier or Prestige card?
Just logged in to my DoubleCash account tonight and discovered this, then also got an email from Citi confirming it.
It is now an option for DoubleCash cardholders to convert their cashback to ThankYou points, at a straight $1 = 100 points rate. You can also choose to just keep it as cashback if you want.
So essentially, the Citi DC is now a 2x-on-all-purchases ThankYou points card. I think that's pretty cool! I was honestly limiting my spending on my DC card because of the points only being able to be used for a statement credit. I'll probably start using this card a lot more now. And I'm also glad I hoarded all my cashback instead of redeeming it every month
This new points flexibility is HUGE, and adds a ton of value to an already great credit card.
Yep definitely makes the DC more flexible.
There has been talk here off and on about it since July.

I realize that you asked this a long time ago and probably got your answer by now, but in case anyone else is wondering, the answer is yes. I tried this with my DW's account since she holds a DC and no other TYP card. I transferred 1 TYP just for testing and it worked fine. You're subject to the max 100k TYP transfer per calendar year and 90-day expiration after transfer to new account.
I'm almost ready to transfer all her DC points to my account and take advantage of the 25% bonus with Lifemiles unless there's a better offer before the end of the promo. Then, I'll also get 10k TYPs back for holding Rewards+ card.
The difference now, is you can convert your $$ to TY points without having a TY points card. As of yesterday, you can do it even if you only have a DC card.

The change is recent but definitely not since yesterday. I believe the official date was Sept 22. I made a transfer from DW's account as soon as it became available and she doesn't have any TYP cards.
Looks like Citi now allows it Double Cash members to convert earned cash back to be converted into Thank You points!
1 dollar converts to 100 Thank You points.
I like this. If only they didnt get rid of many of the benies the DC had this would make a great all around card for most people.
Would it not be better to redeem for cash and use that cash to spend (to generate more TY points).
Thats what I tend to do but if you are transferring points to partners and are short its nice you can convert your cash bank into points for it
