@Longtime......just curious, now that your BC has been closed does that mean the end of MS for you? Since there are no other cards that offer 5% outside of the few that give 6 months intro do you still consider it with worth the time?
Taking a rest for now! Actially, I was going somewhere today and thought "Maybe I should take my Penfed card and buy a $500 gc on the way" But I resisted, as it didn't see worth the trouble! But later, I might try the 6 month TD card as I have an account with them.
But at present working on maximizing cashback without MS, expanding my use of gift-card brokers and cashback portals. (And now not understanding why EVERYONE doesn't do this!)

You should try and reapply for it lol, Ive seen weirder things get approved
Yes, at least one person did, but if you cannot MS, the card isn't that good (for me) Wouldn't want to open one and get shut down again for the same reason, that might annoy them more!

So with my iron self control, I lasted a whole day before tying my Penfed card. Worked without fraud alert, which suprised me (as I never use the card) but fine.

Hey, just scientific curiousity (and I cant help myself). But a quick reality check shows the relative uselessness. On a $500 purchase, I made a profit of about $6. So have to spend $100K a month to get up to previous reward levels and that's not going to happen.
I told my parents about double cash card, since they already have citi card with some sort of cash back rewards. Apparently they tried the card for a month, decided that they didn't like it and canceled it.

Not worth it then :/

Ltlurker, I understand it won't be easy to resist the itchiness to buy GCs. Like me, I can't imagine the frustration if I can't buy at least 1 GC at every gas fill up or grocery stop.
My condolences to you. If it means anything, I just want u to know that my MS interest was sparked by you.
I personally only do it for certain things, but even then don't do it all the time because i've worked hard to get what I have now credit-card wise.
Maybe when my scores nudge into the 760 range i'll be a little more cavalier about it.
