Those stats are pretty good. It seems the concensus is that the underwriting is similar for the charge cards.
Do you travel enough to utilize the benefits to offset the AF? Others are more familiar with AMEX's underwriting and the benefits of each card. Best of luck whatever you decide.

I was also dumbfounded when this occurred. Not sure what set the trigger as I know how Amex charge cards have the same requirements. I still want the Platinum and now I am considering just having both. Plat for benefits and then PRG PC to EDP or something.
I was considering the Ameriprise Platinum, but I just don't use my PRG nearly as much as I used to, so will be closing it in November.
Doesn't bother me one bit.
OP, what is your income bracket?
I'd say pretty close to 100% assuming the UW standards are the same for all their charge cards. I was instantly approved for the Amex Green with like 15+ hard inquiries, ~$25K in CC debt (like 90% util), and scores in my sig.
Having said that, I've been denied 4 times in the last 10 months for their revolvers (Delta, Costco x 2, and BCP). I applied for the Delta at the same time as the Green, and the other two I've applied for at different times after the 6 month mark with the Green.

FYI: You can't PC an AMEX charge card to a revolver and vice-versa.

Oh that's right. I did read that on another thread. Completely forgot. I'll still consider getting EDP and possible canceling PRG
