I have an old unpaid account from 1998 that is still reported in my TU as "unrated or bankruptcy". Does that hurt my score? Should I get it remove completely or try to have them change it to "say paid as agreed"?

if it's a BK should be droping off in 2008

sometimes, I've heard it will refresh the aging on the debt

and you'd have to wait an addtl 7 years.

some may argue against that, but it has happened

Just let it drop off.
