Potential Smartly change?

Maybe I am paranoid (so claimed the prosecution in my last four trials but that's another story).  Getting emails from USB about a change in the wealth management structure, from USBI to USBA, and funds are moved from the former to the latter.   It wouldn't amaze me if someone decides that funds in USBA don't count to the $100K......

Re: Potential Smartly change?

I remember when 3% AOD was king and every single time I saw any correspondence from AOD, I was convinced that was the end.  I'm trying not to be paranoid with 4% Smartly.  Just take it day by day, ride the wave as far as it will take me, don't spend any time worrying.  Smiley Happy

Everyday 5% CB:
Chase prime Visa // citi CUSTOM CASH “A” // citi CUSTOM CASH “B” // citi CUSTOM CASH “C” // citi ThankYou (5% gas, lucrative spending offers) // mylowe’s Rewards // Target circle card

Rotating 5% CB:
Chase “OG” freedom Visa // DISCOVER it Cash Back // nusenda CU Platinum Cash Rewards

Everyday 4% CB:
US Bank Smartly (v1.0)

Everyday 3% / 2.2% CB:
AOD FCU Visa Signature (3%, sockdrawered) // upgrade Cash Rewards Elite (2.2%, sockdrawered)

Welcome Offer / credits only:
NFCU FLAGSHIP REWARDS (elevated Welcome Offer, annual prime credit, sockdrawered)

Hotel card:
Chase IHG ONE REWARDS PREMIER (elevated Welcome Offer, 1 free night/yr)

On my radar:
Langely FCU Signature Cash Back (5% CB monthly selectable cat) // Safe CU Cash Back+ (Quarterly rotating 5% CB cats plus bonus cats) // upgrade MyFive Cash Rewards (5% CB monthly selectable cat) // US Bank Kroger (and family) World Elite Master Card(s) (5% CB Mobile Wallet)

I am in pretty deep with USB now and still just take it day by day as well. I expect some nerfing at some point but until then, am just using a strategy that works well for me. When it no longer works for me, I will switch it up. People can bash USB all day long (and they are not off base really) but for those of us still in the game with them, it is a lucrative ride.

As far as the original post, I did think the same thing possible. However, they have been good about announcing things a month or two out and figure with the switch to US Bank Advisors, they would have gotten that out there if that had been the plan all along to make those accounts get treated differently. Time will tell.

I'm happy the AOD continues to be around. Even with a $1500 a month limit on the 3%, it's still a great card for my usage patterns and monthly spend.

Of course, it's slowly getting displaced by the US Bank Kroger card. 5% with Apple Pay means I don't use my AOD in person much anymore and sites online are starting to take Apple Pay too (which unlike Google Pay, still counts as mobile wallet for this card).

Not necessarily.  If you use Google Pay on an Android device within an app, you will get the 5% mobile.  Works for me.  I have Apple Pay also (Apple device), but have yet to not find a way to get Google Wallet to work on Android.  So far if they accept one they accept the other.

Right, I meant I can use Apple Pay on my Mac or with a browser on my iPhone and it will still count as mobile wallet. I don't have to use their apps. Any Apple Pay transaction is coded as mobile wallet.

Yes, but most legit businesses have an app.  And if they accept Apple Pay, they also accept Google Pay.    But I get you, just nice to use on the laptop/phone browser and not worry about it, if accepted, for the 5% mobile to be triggered.

I am joining the group that is tired of having to install apps for every little thing. I end up with 150-200 on my phone and it's just ridiculous. My 17 Pro Max has 256GB of storage. 15GB goes to photos and videos, 26GB to iOS, 15GB to system data. I have 105GB free and the rest of the 150GB goes to apps. It's just crazy. How did it come to be that my Mac has less on it than my phone does? lol

It's all any of us can do with any card, really. Credit card nerfs are inevitable, but when/how they happen can vary so widely.
