It's cool. I was doing something I haven't done since the 1990s - I was watching the NBA basketball game when I was replying. I really wasn't relavent to the post. I guess I'm not good at multi-tasking. This game was like old school basketball.

Lets talk about Pre Approval Sites, How Successful they are?
Some say if it gives exact APR or a lower range APR then you are more likely to be approved.
This is only a partial list. I tried to pick the ones normal people can possibly get and I'm sure I am missing a few.
Please add your own
For me:
American Express never showed any on their site but I got great Pre Approvals in the mail that I was approved for.
Bank of America shows me pre approvals all the time but I can't speak on if it works or not since I haven't applied. Update... Can put any info in the site you want.
Barclay - I dont see the pre approval site anymore but some claim the emails they send out are definite signs of approval.
Capital One's approval site has been good to me and my wife but shows nothing pre approved as of late.
Chase never shows me any pre approvals.
CitiBank never throws me a bone with pre approvals or approvals.
Credit One - Never tried it. Any hopefully will never have to.
Discover's Pre approval site is crap.
Home Depot - If I lived closer to one.
US Bank only offers me a debit card lol
Amex never shows me pre approvals either. But I did get the first 3xcli. Only offers in the mail for me.
BOfA doesn't work. But I app'd anyway & got their 123 Rewards siggy visa.
Barclay never gave me a auto cli yet and it has been 7 months.
Cap One does cli's every 6 months & I did get a pre approval for my second Venture or QS card with apr showing.
Chase sent me an email to call & ask for a cli. Don't think I want the hp from it right now. Pre approval site is always nothing but I get offers for the the Sapphire card?
Citi gave me an auto cli after 5 months. It's been 7 months now and nothing as of yet. Also no pre approvals from their site.
Credit One has been gone a long time ago.
Discover's well you know, AWESOME!
Home Depot I get nothing on their pre approval site. Still afraid to go into their store & ask.lol And I don't need anymore inquiries.
Us Bank only gives me their debit card but pushes their cc on me via emails?

I don't think their site is very accurate. Hopefully others have been approved from that site.
We may have to test this soon.
Did you see a specific APR when you checked ? I never get anything on the BoA site even though I do get preapprovals in the mail from them
Same here, and email invite for Alaska Air credit. Discover, just cold app. Never had pre approval on Amex, cold app. Citi sends me lots of pre approvals, and their site tends to match (I think). Never had pre approval for cap one, and chase stopped pre qualing me.

Take one back. The mailed offers from citi are 14.99, the pre approval is 22.99.
I have Pre-Approvals from Citibank but all my APR's are 22.99%
Whats weird is that my Simplicity card is at 12.99%
Thanks for the Links , Jam.![]()

Do NOT trust Bank of America pre-approval.
They changed their verbage to we 'recommend' not prequalify.
Also, it has been tested you can actually put in fake information into their prequalification and it will show the same 'recommendations'
Good to Know. Thanks

I agree that seeing a specific APR seems more solid on the pre qual sites. That is what works the best on Discover's site.
I was pre approved at Home Depot for a tasty 25.9% APR. Cannot wait to apply. Sarc...

Thanks for the Citi Info. I also get the 22.9% on the pre qual site for the Double Cash, but no mail offers for me yet.
