How long after you got the junky pre-approved offers (sub-prime, Cap 1 type) did you start seeing better offers?

I still have not got any good offersSmiley Sad

but I think that has a lot to do with my ch 13 being in repayment stage not finalized.

Re: Pre-Approved CC Offers Question

That depends on your score, and it depends on if the prime banks are even purchasing potential customer lists from the CRA's.  With the current economy, and banks looking to reduce risk, I wouldnt count on many prime pre-apps unless your name was already on a list they have purchased.

Re: Pre-Approved CC Offers Question

Fender- Thats a bummer. I am sure since I just got my first FICO scores this month (I had no history before now) that my name was not on a prime lender list.

Re: Pre-Approved CC Offers Question

You could try bank of americas pre approval site. =)

Or HSBC.. They certainly arent the best lender, but you can see if they have any offers for you.

Re: Pre-Approved CC Offers Question

Thanks Fender, apparently I am not worthy enough for BofA. I was offered a secured card from their pre-approval site. I already have two of those. Oh well, I read it is a soft pull so no biggie.

I have an HSBC/Orchard secured, so I am well aware of HSBC's shortcomings.

Dont worry Pappy

I really dont think that website works. I have scores in the mid 700's with no baddies whatsoever and i always get the secured card option.  I dont know why. Just opt back in just to make sure i did not opt out before and i did not remember

2009 is your year Pappy

Thanks Oracles. I think you may be right about BofA's site... LOL. Almost everyone I see on here gets the same response.

Re: Pre-Approved CC Offers Question

You might consider applying for a BoA card, you might get one or you might get counter-offered the partially secured visa (99/500).  Its a great card to have, graduation in as little as 9 months.  What are your scores and recent baddies like?  This would of course be a hard pull.

Re: Pre-Approved CC Offers Question

No hard pulls for me until Sep 09, if I can help it!  TU 631 and EX 651... I have not pulled EQ. EQ is not listing my auto loan so it will probably be lower. (No installment loans) I don't want to waste an INQ unless I am almost 100 percent gonna get a nice card.

Only two baddies, both paid in full collections, they are over 3 years old, but still hurt according to the scoring explanation.
