Preparing for NFCU application

I am getting prepared to apply for membership via my deceased father.  Last night I got a hold of his DD214 from 1962, my mom had a copy stashed away.  I have his birth cert, and death cert as well.

I have bank statements ready, pay stubs too, and of course my DL, SS card, and my birth cert scaned and ready.

I hope I have covered all the basis.

I am still hoping they pull TU for membership and EQ for credit products, those reports are looking very good.  2 EQ Inq in last 12 months and 1 Inq on TU.

I will going for it all, Savings, Checking, Navcheck for 15k, and Flagship hoping for at least 25k or more on that. I have read the Flagship max limit is 80k.

Does anybody know if they say you have too much credit from others as a reason for denial ?

Is it better to just send all the documents at once weather they request it or not.  I read another post here where a person is having a heck of a time getting approved for membership.

Any thoughts of wisdom is appreciated.

Thank you

J

Re: Preparing for NFCU application

Assuming your dad meets the requirement of membership you may not need to send his information. They did not request my Dads info and the only time they req a pay stub was for a LOC

I'm in So Cal and they pulled TU for membership and EQ for cc's

Re: Preparing for NFCU application

If the DD214 (not sure of all the info those include) states he retired from the military (and ESP if he was an officer), you're golden as it gets.  NFCU will already have him in their database most likely.

Good luck and let us know how things go!

I seem to see so many apps these days get 1 credit card after membership instantly with no verification of income and such but that Nav Check might get request for docs... either way I guess if your income is really high then putting that on file now won't hurt you that's for sure... when my partner joined he got credit card but then auto loan which was less than half the CL of the credit card he got asked for docs... but now loc and CLI on cc and 2nd cc no income request.... but not sure how long before they will want to update with new requests. so might not hurt to load them via secure message after accounts are set up and you apply for the cc and loc.

maybe even go ahead and apply for flagship and then a 2nd card and loc.

Re: Preparing for NFCU application

You have all prepared. Proof of eligibility, which can be requested at any point (even years after being a member according to one experience I read online) is good to have now, especially when the eligible relative may be deceased, long retired, or in household member situations. They may not want it right away, but since you will be applying for multiple products in a quick timeframe, it may trigger the request for proof of eligibility.

I didn't need paystubs until I applied for the Navchek. Since it is a line of credit, proof of income will definitley be required for Navchek. At least that was the CSR told me when I asked about it. I went straight for the $15K and got it.

Best of luck on your limits!
