Citi wants people to use their cards on something other than that big money-loser known as "fourth night free."

Daily Carry: PenFed Power Cash • NFCU Flagship • NFCU More Rewards • Chase Freedom
Sock Drawer: PenFed Promise • NFCU cashRewards • Chase Sapphire Preferred • Chase Freedom Unlimited • United Explorer • UNFCU Azure

Won’t work with me.  Already have another stay planned, saving $600

Re: Prestige may not be open to Applications

I wonder how they will relaunch the card. I really hope it competes with the Chase Sapphire Reserve and doesn't turn into a "5% rotating categories" card. I'd also like to see them make the card a bit more heavy/premium-feeling.

It will be interesting to see what they have in store.  I just hope that they don’t get rid of the 4th night free because that has saved me thousands of dollars.

I can see how that would be an awesome benefit to have if you stay in a hotel frequently for 4 days or more, but realistically, you would have to think that this is the main reason they are relaunching the card (because of how much it is costing them). It's one of those things where probably only a small percentage of people who have the card use the benefit, but those people probably use it a lot. That is a complete guess, but maybe (hopefully) they will keep that benefit for grandfathered accounts.

Re: Prestige may not be open to Applications

Because they are certainly making commissions on the bookings, I'd be curious to know just how unprofitable 4NF really is for them.  For many of us, that would be the only reason to have the card (and I'll try again in 10 days to product change my DP to Prestige).  The 3x categories are more restrictive than its little $95 brother and portal redemptions are still only a 25% bonus as with Premier, rather than 25/50 like CSP/CSR have going on.  I don't see it becoming a 5% rotating card; since I finally decided to get Citi cards of my own 2 years ago, they've constantly targeted 5% offers to me.  In fact, the card that I plan to PC actually has a 5% back (up to $100) for 90 days offer for all purchases promotion.

Re: Prestige may not be open to Applications

Wow that's pretty good, though doesn't make the AF worthwhile if you weren't using the 4th night free already, and at 5% they're still over the swipe fees.

Their Dividend card still has decent categories despite being closed for quite some time now https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/credit-cards-citi/citi.action?ID=dividend-quarterly-offer
