Will add, I did the US Bank Cash+ Visa conversion to the US Bank Smartly Visa by telephone. Worked well and I received the metal Smartly Card in five calendar days.

Nice.  Always a let down for me when a plastic card shows up nowadays.  Any idea if we can instantly qualify for the 4% rate if we deposit 100k within the first 30 days after receiving the card, or do we have to wait until 90 days have gone by to qualify?  With BofA they give you early access to Platinum Honors if you hit the threshold within the first 30 days of account opening.

Ah I found it:

Combined Balances are based on the average daily balance of the previous 3 months (calculated monthly) (or, for account(s) open less than 3 months, the average daily balance of the applicable time frame).  The applicable Smartly Earning Bonus will be determined by reviewing the Combined Balances in the qualifying accounts of each Cardmember (if there is more than one) and using the total Combined Balances of the individual whose accounts have the highest total.

Re: Product Change - US Bank Cash+ to Smartly

Don't have a warm fuzzy feeling yet!

I applied for the Smartly, got a 7-10 day notice, but  I didn't get any reports of a hit on my unfrozen EX so I think it failed for that.   I then successfully(?) PCd a Cash+ as I have another and a Max Cash.    I applied for Smartly checking and savings, got a "we are reviewing" notice but a quick phone call fixed that.

On to the IRA:  I want to pull funds over from a Fidelity IRA but didn't see a way to do this.  On a call, a wealth manager, really confused me!

There are two types (apart from Roth/Trad)  of IRA apparently, Regular and Investment.  I asked about the difference, and in particular, could I pull an ETF from Fidelity to either?   He said both types are CDs.  I find it hard to believe that an Investment IRA is only CDs!  He said he doesn't have access to the Investment side but that's what he knows.   So I will call investment on Monday but already not too happy with at least one of a) knowledge level, or b) product.

Might have to use Smartly as just a 2% card if the IRA doesn't work!

I can't even guess as to what he was talking about. Maybe another rep there would make more sense.

You can just do an in-kind transfer from Fidelity which would transfer any stock or bond over via ACAT without having to liquidate it first. Most should work aside from crypto and leveraged ETFs which some of these old brokerages don't like.

Longtimelurker

Hope you are able to work through the process and obtain access to the US Bank Smartly Visa at the 4% level.

Find Fidelity a mystery. Since they have had serious challenges and now use holds for some that run 30 days, I moved funds out so I could use the funds.

Just an FYI. I just logged into my Usbank account. When I navigated to my cash+ card and selected upgrade card the option was for Smartly. I do not know if this option will show for everyone or not. YMMV
