Promo on Seldom-Used USAA Card

Let the holiday promos commence!

I have an old USAA Rewards Platinum Visa that hasn't been used in over a year (I frequently ridicule this card's lack of utility) but today I got an email with a promotion:

I've already dug this card out of its usual hiding place in my sock drawer.

I'm going to try to be strategic so that everything is maximized, but it's already looking like I'm going to have no issues maxing-out the rewards on my Freedom and Freedom Flex so this came along at a good time!

Thanks for posting this @UncleB -- mine was $100 for the same timeframe and same amount of spend on one of my seldomly used USAA AmEx.

I'll see if I can get the image uploaded for those who may have received a similar promo.

I too got the spend $500 for $100 promo.  But only got it on one of my two Amex Cards both of which are basically unused.  I got my notice as a physical piece of mail.  For those that have USAA cards you can check www.usaa.com/myoffers to see if it's on one of your accounts.  I initially thought it applied to both of my cards but noticed in the semi fine print on my flyer that it denoted which card it applied to.  Visiting the website I listed above further confirmed that.

I got the spend $500 get $50 on my unused USAA CC. I haven't used that card in almost two years.

So the secret is to literally NEVER use the card to get an offer. 😃. Noted!  Thanks @Gmood1 🤑
